Facial aging involves loosening of muscles, ligaments and skin in the face. There is also loss of soft tissue volume in the upper part and a gain of this in the lower face. Facelift surgery addresses these two main themes of human facial aging by resuspending the important SMAS layer in the face and removing excess skin in a way that leaves very discrete signs of treatment.
Your surgeon will discuss the most appropriate treatment with you, which may combine liposuction under the chin and other volume enhances treatments with your facelift. Most patients will discuss the MACS lift (minimal access, cranial suspension) which has a long track record of very natural results, reduced complications and reduced down time.
We will ask you to provide medical history including any previous surgery, medications and allergies. Finally a comprehensive discussion regarding risks and complications will take place, alongside a discussion regarding the post procedure and recovery phase.
